First things first, can you believe it’s already almost August?! When I lived back in the midwest, I waited all year for summer and I took full advantage of the long, hot days while they lasted. Here in San Diego where it’s in the 70s year round, we tend to take the summer months for granted and don’t do summer-y things as often as we should. I made a goal of spending some time every single weekend at the beach this summer and I’m doing a pretty stellar job so far. So many beach days already and I have a nice little tan to prove it. 😉
I’ve said it a few times, but 2016 is the year I am doing all the stuff that scares me. When an opportunity presents itself and my gut reaction is to say no because it’s scary, I say yes instead. I went after a job opportunity that scared me a bit, I started a new coaching endeavor, I spoke in front of thousands of people at Wanderlust, and I signed up for my first 50k which also happens to be my first trail race…ever.
Now, I am teaming up with ClassPass and a few other awesome bloggers to take on a slightly similar but different challenge for the month of August. ClassPass is challenging me and all of you to do something new every single day for the month of August. It can be as simple as trying a new recipe, running a new trail or styling your hair differently for a day. Whatever. These things don’t have to be fitness related, although trying a new workout is always a great idea. When they presented me with this challenge I was all in. This kind of thing is right up my alley.
Here’s the best part: If you decide to participate in the challenge, you can win insane prizes like 3 months of ClassPass for FREE or a cool swag bag full of goodies by using the hashtag #ClassPassChallenge. If you complete all 31 days in August (#overachiever) you’ll receive 5 bonus entries.
The challenge starts next Monday, August 1st so get ready!
Some things I plan to do in August for #ClassPassChallenge:
- Make a recipe from Gwyneth’s Paltrow’s cookbook, “It’s All Easy”
- Visit the Self Realization Fellowship here in Encinitas for a meditation class
- Try a boxing class
- Have dinner or lunch at EVE, a new vegan cafe in town
- Take some sort of dance workout class (eek!)
- Let Brittany choose where we go out to dinner one night and not make a peep 😉
If you’re not familiar with ClassPass, it’s an awesome app that allows you to book classes with the click of a button at a TON of studios in your city for one reasonable price. Normal drop in rates for many boutique studios are around $20-30/class so having a membership that allows you to class hop between your favorite Pilates, spin, yoga, and bootcamp classes is just genius. ClassPass is around the same cost as a membership to ONE studio but you have access to HUNDREDS of studios.
My friends at ClassPass were kind enough to offer you guys a way to try it out for only $19 for a full month! In San Diego, that’s less than the cost of 1 class at a boutique fitness studio. Here is your special deal. Warning: You will become addicted. My friend Ashleigh literally went to 10 classes in her first week. 🙂 **Please note you will need to enter your credit card info for any classes you miss without properly canceling.
To kick this whole thing off, I am doing a giveaway so one lucky reader will win a ONE MONTH ClassPass Membership! Follow my fellow ClassPass bloggers on Instagram and Twitter to enter. You will love these girls!
