I haven’t done of these posts in awhile and there are so many things I am obsessed with at the moment.
But before I get started, I should probably address the elephant in the room – my two week running hiatus. Well, if you follow me on instagram you already know that I did NOT in fact end up taking two weeks off of running. I know, I know. I did Barry’s Bootcamp which required running on a treadmill, a photo shoot that was all running, and then I also did a few regular runs. In my defense, I have been rolling like a champ, I bought new cushiony shoes and I am not running two days in a row.
There. Now that I’ve confessed my sins, let’s move onto to all of the things I am digging lately.
1. Halo Top Ice-Cream
I’ve seen this one floating around social media for awhile and have heard multiple people rave about it, but I was a total skeptic. Ice-cream with only 240 calories in an entire pint?! Gimme a break. Well, turns out it’s AMAZING. Like ridiculous. It’s high in protein, low in sugar, no artificial sweeteners, all natural and all that good stuff. It’s nothing like the chemical-laden sugar-free ice-cream I used to eat in college. This stuff is legit. (I reallllllly hope someone from Halo Top reads this and hooks me up…)
2. The Alanis Morissette Pandora Station
This one came about because I was listening to my friend Sheri’s TBT Spin Class playlist and an Alanis song popped on. That led me to listen to the entire Jagged Little Pill album and then onto an Alanis inspired Pandora station which is just magic (if you’re over 30). Think Natalie Imbruglia and The Cranberries. Sooooo good. So many memories.
3. The NEW SparkCycle in Liberty Station
HOLY COW. The new Spark studio is just gorgeous. It’s pristine, white, contemporary and huge. The location is ideal as it’s surrounded by all that Liberty Station has to offer (the public market, countless restaurants, grocery stores). I had the chance to try out different instructors I’ve never had before because I normally spin at the La Jolla location. They’ve all been top notch and so full of energy. I live drenched in sweat and feeling like a total badass. They give you a eucalyptus infused cold towel during the cool-down of class which is enough to make you come back again and again.
Extra bonus: they sell these cute puppy tanks.
4. The Nix by Nathan Hill
This book has me totally engrossed lately. I love books that are simply about people and relationships and this one gives you 600+ pages of just that. It’s funny but slightly depressing and even tragic at times. I’m into it. Highly recommend if you’re into long winded, never ending books. 😉
5. Travel Planning
Ok, admittedly I have more of a love/hate relationship with this one. Brittany and I just booked a 10 day trip to the Amalfi Coast in August. It’s been a bucket list trip for me FOREVER and I have never been to Italy, so it’s great news. I simultaneously want to pop a bottle of rose and cry as I watch my bank account balance dwindle to a sad number I don’t even want to talk about. Overall, it’s fun biting the bullet, booking flights and scoping out airbnb spots. Any tips or recommendations are welcome!
6. The NEW Health-Ade Flavor: Blood Orange, Carrot & Ginger
I’m a huge kombucha nut and health-ade is my preferred brand. Their newest flavor is a combination of 3 of my favorite flavors of all time, and it’s everything a girl could ever want in a bottle of booch! I found it at Lazy Acres but haven’t seen it many other places… yet.
7. Getting a Shout-Out from Locale Magazine
Locale Magazine picked 12 female fitness influencers in San Diego and are taking a poll to see who is the favorite. I am definitely not the biggest fan of popularity contests but I am honored to even be thought of for the list in the first place. Some friends of mine are also on the list and some that definitely deserve to be, are not. If you feel like giving your girl some love, go for it. Or vote for one of my friends! 🙂
